Fall Fair - Be There!
By Alyssa Ellenor
The Fall Fair is back! Whether it be for the haunted house, the awesome snacks or upbeat dance, you’ll be thankful you went to this memorable event.
But...when is this event? And is it a dance or is it a fair? Is admission free? These are questions members of Student Council have been asked when the time for Fall Fair arrives. That is why I’ve interviewed Pascale Malenfant, this year’s Student Council co-head, about what we can expect for the Fall Fair this year.
What will be featured in the Fall Fair this year?
This year’s fair will have many fall-related activities this year. There will be a bean bag toss, a pie eating contest, a raffle, a Haunted house, and more!
Is admission free?
Admission will not be free; however it is a charity event, so the proceeds will be going to the Ottawa Food Bank. Also, each person is automatically entered into the raffle upon purchasing a ticket. Cotton candy, soda and popcorn will also available for purchase at super cheap prices. Keep in mind that there’ll only be 100 tickets sold, so get them quick!
Anything you can tell us about this year’s haunted house?
The haunted house is definitely one of the main attractions of the Fall Fair. The theme and layout is different every year and we try to keep it as a surprise, so I won’t reveal anything too soon.
Is it really a junior-only event?
Yes: The Fall Fair is now an underclassmen-only charity event, with proceeds going towards the Ottawa Food Bank. There will be an upperclassmen-only event sometime in December, which will be the first of its kind at Canterbury!
Anything else we should know?
Yes: the event is from 3:40-6:00p.m on October 30th, in the auditorium. If you are going, you must present your student ID and you cannot go back to your locker during the event. We will also need grade nine volunteers to act for us in the Haunted House, but we’ll be looking for people at a later date.
So, Grade 9’s and 10’s of Canterbury, don’t miss out on this spectacular event! It’s a great chance to have fun, play great games, meet new people and help out a charity all at the same time!
