GIVING AND RECEIVING
We transcend our entire lives in a cycle of giving and receiving. From the moment we are born, the majority of people are given a name. When we die, we give away our cherished goods to loved ones.
I made this photo essay with the intention of capturing the giving and receiving that occurs in the vast in-between. Giving a hug, giving a gift, giving advice or dropping food off at a friend’s house. We receive from those who care and return back the favours with gratitude.
Note: the formatting of this photo essay is split in half, one post-Covid in early 2020, another captured in the early moments of 2021.
