The Glebe during a pandemic by Vanessa Brohman
The Glebe is one of the most popular areas in Ottawa. With the bitter Canadian weather and Covid restrictions, I wanted to capture how our world is changing as we know it. The Glebe is usually buzzing with young adults, activists posting signs to bring justice, and children dragging their parents into ice cream shops and dollar stores. All of these pictures capture how empty and quiet this area is now, empty restaurants, empty seats on the bus, empty stores. Leaves you to wonder if local shops are struggling to keep up, if reagulars become strangers again.
