Spring is in the Air
By Aiden Paczek
As the clouds clear and the beaming sun comes out on a mild April morning it becomes increasingly obvious that it’s going to be a good day. Trees are blooming and birds are chirping. With how nice of a day it is only one question remains: how will you spend it? Whether it’s inside or outside, spring is filled with so many possibilities. With such unpredictable weather you would have to be prepared for good days; days where it’s not raining or really cold are limited. So it’s best to take advantage of these days. On warm and sunny days without surprise biking is one of the most popular activities. With so many possibilities on where to go and what to do the sky's the limit. Go biking with friends or by yourself. Most people said that biking is a great way to clear your mind and relax. It’s a great activity that you can do in your own neighborhood -- that’s why a lot of people are drawn to this activity. You can catch a great look at the beautiful spring scenery while out on a ride. With all this in mind there was no surprise that biking would be the most popular spring activity when talking to students. But what do you do on a rainy day? When it’s cold, wet and not worth it to go outside? When the weather isn’t agreeing with you, which is common during spring, it may seem like there is nothing to do. Why not make some popcorn and binge watch some movies. What better way to spend a gloomy day than inside watching some of your favourite movies. The new selection of movies is forever expanding. |
According to Zoe Paczek “with new movies coming out constantly there is always something to watch."
Watching movies is a great way to relax your mind and enjoy yourself along the way. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t like a good Netflix binge? Surprisingly a very popular spring time activity is doing a deep clean of your room and house. Apparently the phrase “spring cleaning” does have some meaning. It’s a great way to say goodbye to winter with a good cleaning and sorting. Maybe even donate some unwanted clothes. Zoe agrees, saying: “During the spring I always find myself doing some sort of big cleaning and reorganize of my whole room." It seems like an odd thing to enjoy doing ,but according to multiple interviewees it’s very freeing. It’s not a bad rainy day activity when you have nothing else to watch after your movie marathon. Although spring may seem like such an incredible season -- with winter leaving and warmer weather and sun coming -- it was surprisingly unpopular with most of the interviews that were conducted. Out of the 50 people that were asked for their favourite season only 8 said spring. Which is pretty low. You would think that it would be 25 percent for each season. So it seems odd that only 16 percent of people said spring. According to the data above spring is an unpopular season. |
