A Taste Of Nostalgia
By:Leila Rose Haji

A Taste of Nostalgia

Now that I'm older I find myself reminiscing about my childhood and getting caught in nostalgia. When I was in kindergarten I couldn't wait to grow up so that I could watch TV all day and buy a Barbie dreamhouse with my money. I'm sixteen now and I miss having a nap time and recess. When you're little everything seems so big and exciting.
Through this photo essay, I wanted to capture the curiosity and joy of childhood. My little sister (Hannah) is four and she's always loved watching me bake. Sometimes I let her help me out in the kitchen but this time I gave her free reign to do whatever she wanted. This was really exciting for her and I had a lot of fun watching her problem solve.  The tiny moments I captured all demonstrate the essence and joy of childhood. She may be small but she didn't let that stand in the way of her goal. Hannah's curiosity and ability to find joy from the little things inspires me. I think we should all strive to do things that feed our sense of curiosity and nostalgia.
