Winterpeg: Winter in Winnipeg

WINNIPEG IN WINTER

In my life, I have gone many times. So, I decided it was ok for me to do a photo essay on my next trip to Winnipeg. Winnipeg is often referred to as “Winterpeg” during winter because of the freezing temperatures. To bring some of this to Ottawa, I decided that during my trip to winnipeg over the holidays, I would take some photos of iconic winnipeg and cold weather. The photos I took include photos of the golden boy atop the Manitoba legislature building, the long fields of a rural prairie province, and photos from a local park of people enjoying and embracing the cold weather, some of the others not so much. While creating the photo essay, I was able to expand my eye for photography and learn what creates a good setting for a photo. These skills that I learned while doing the photo essay are skills that I will be able to take with me throughout my journey with photo taking.
