                                My Toy Story

By Subine Lee
Isolated from others is dreary and lonely. We have felt that strong since the Covid-19 lock-down started. The lock-down cancelled events we planned, and a lack of connection between friends and family has resulted.  The war between Covid-19 and humans took a long time; this lack of human connection inspired my photo essay.
The toys in the pictures are from countries around the world, France, Denmark, Mexico and several other countries that my family traveled to. They have been stuck in the little boxes on the shelf - isolated from each other since my family moved. It felt like the toys on the shelf are in the same situation as people during the lockdown. Therefore, I chose to give them a special day, a day to experience things that we used to enjoy before the pandemic. I hope this photo essay brings back your memories with your friends and family!
The Wallflower is a proud production of Canterbury's TGG3M program
